COLLEGE PREPARATION WRITING CLASSES

Ages 13-18

Join me for semester-long courses geared to preparing students 13-18 for the demands of college-level work. Based on my experiences teaching at the university level, courses will provide students with the necessary skills to create university-level essays, including developing thesis statements, paper organization, MLA, APA, and Chicago style citations, and much more! Courses available for hesitant or beginner writers to advanced level writers.

COLLEGE PREPARATION WRITING SEMESTER I

Research and Writing Basics

Learn everything you will need to know for writing successfully in college including grammar basics, writing a summary, research papers, analyzing sources, and more--all from a college professor! Ten-week class, once a week. For beginning researchers and writers. Understanding of a five-paragraph essay recommended. Course fee: $250.

COLLEGE PREPARATION WRITING SEMESTER II

Critical Thinking and Argumentative Writing

Join a college professor to learn the ins and outs of writing a stellar argumentative paper and how to think critically about sources used in research, including online resources, academic journals, and more!

Can be taken with or without College Prep Writing I. Intended for beginner-intermediate level writers. Recommended that learners have a basic understanding of five-paragraph essays and citations. Eight-week class, once a week. Course fee: $200.

COLLEGE PREPARATION WRITING SEMESTER III

Research Intensive

Spend eight weeks learning the ins and outs of writing advanced college-level research papers, leading up to presenting your own 7-8 page research project! This class is intended for intermediate-advanced writers and replicates the research project development process of a university-level course. Can be taken without Part I or II. Eight-week course, once a week. Course fee: $225
